A Whales Story

You humans

Such a greedy and careless bunch,

While you walk among the lands

We, the whales carve out our lives

Beneath majestic waves.

We are a curious sea faring species,

We swim under the setting suns

And rising moons.

Sadly your harpoon ships kill us,

Stab us for oils, skins, or pure sport,

In oceans where ice floats and melts

I watch as man made machinery,

Impale my kind.

We carry the ocean on our backs,

As you carry harpoon on your shoulders,

Listen to the songs of the deep

Please heed our melody.
